Christmas 2008

The kids got what they wanted this year. Big surprise. Madison asked for "Animal Crossing" and a hermit crab. Zach asked for a bb gun and a Nerf machine gun. Lucy only wanted a pony that "neigh's". Here is what they had to say in their own words:

"Christmas was very fun. I can't believe Santa brought me a bb gun. My mom is so mad at Santa! My dad got me a new air soft pistol with holster. I got "Boogie", a DS game and a Nerf machine gun that shoots a lot of bullets! Madison says they hurt."

"Christmas was very fun. I got a webkinz, "Animal Crossing: City Folk", a hermit crab, a watch, a U of U hat, and lots more. My hermit crab has been shy but is starting to come out of his shell - hahaha. Bye for now. Love Madison"

"My hat is red and it has a U on it. Thank you Santa for getting my pony. I love you so much. Thank you for getting mom a present. Thank you for getting me my webkinz.

"Keepers"

I received this e-mail from a friend and liked it's message. enjoy.

"Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their best friends lived barely a wave away. I can see them now, Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a house dress, lawn mower in one hand, and dish-towel in the other. It was the time for fixing things. A curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress. Things we keep.

It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that re-fixing, eating, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more.


But then my mother died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth of the hospital room,
I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more. Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away...never to return. So... While we have it... it's best we love it... And care for it.... And fix it when it's broken..... And heal it when it's sick.

This is true... For marriage.... And old cars.... And children with bad report cards..... Dogs and cats with bad hips.... And aging parents.... And grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep. Like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.

There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special.... And so, we keep them close!"

I'm with the freaks!

This is Brandon and "Drunk Guy" freaking out during the last 2 minutes of the game. I love it when everyone starts waving their flags. "Drunk Guy" has to high-five everyone after any great play. hahaha

BACK IN BLACK!!!!!!!

The Ute's defense is incredible! They seem to pull it out in last last 2 minutes every time it really counts! This game with Texas Christian University really was fun to watch. They are both awesome teams. The Utes had a "Blackout" game. Everyone was told to wear black and even the players sported new black uniforms. This, however, is a picture of a ginormous head.

This picture was taking in 2004 at the Pack Family Pumpkin Farm in Farmington, Utah.

It is one of my all time favorite pictures and is

even my desktop background for the fall.

I love my kids!

Lucy and her very best friend Eliza went to the pumpkin patch in Farmington with their preschool. It's been fun having Eliza with her at school this year.

It took a while to pick the very best pumpkin in the patch, but they finally found them!

We have one shroom, one mummy and one kitty this year. They are already deciding what they are going to be for next year.

Diesel and Daisy

Too bad Diesel's favorite thing to do is rip stuffed bunnies apart.

Oh Boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh GIRL

This is Daisy and she will be joining our family in a couple of days. She is Diesel's sister from his parent's last litter. Can I just take this moment to say "This is why I have a no soliciting sign on my door". Seriously.....I can't turn anything down. ESPECIALLY a big puddle of wrinkles.

We are so excited!

Decisions, decisions

Lucy just decided what she would like to be when she grows up big. Either Santa, a butterfly, a rainbow, or a unicorn. Her most popular answer is a butterfly. Santa is new. Good Luck Bleu!!!

Zach's first day of 3rd grade

This is Zach and his 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Kidd, and his friend Ford Ballard (yes, THAT Ballard). I wasn't that good of a mom this year. This is the only picture I have of the first day of school. This isn't even the first day, it's back to school night. AND....Zach is the only one of my children with a picture. For shame! Someone really needs to take over this department.

My Kids' AWESOME Experience

Grandma Char hosted 2 kids from Kenya this month as they were touring for a dancing and singing group. She requested kids that were similar in age to Madison and Zach. Sarah (age 11), and Randu (age 12) were fun to be with. Sarah was very shy and beautiful. Randu was full of character and life. He loved to dance and even taught Madison and Zach the "Macaraina".

Madison, Zach and Lucy were able to spend the whole day Thursday and some of Friday with these great kids. They went to McDonald's because Sarah and Randu had recently discovered the great joys of french fries. YUM! At Hollywood Connection, they rode rides and played miniature golf.

Lucy had it the best. She didn't have to walk for 2 days!! Randu or Sarah packed her all over the place.

The children's choir from Africa put on a show for their host families that was great! I loved the my children got to have this experience. They bonded so well with Sarah and Randu I couldn't have every asked for more. I hope this will be something they remember forever.

Lucy's Birthday

Lucy turns four!!!

Lucy Bleu's birthday was August 13th. No one who has been around her would be able to forget it because she tells everyone the date very clearly. She has been waiting, not always patiently, for this day. She is so excited to finally be four. She now gets to have her own "Lemonade Stand", or so she says anyway. In the meantime, she has been having "Nerd Stands" where she eats most of her inventory before it sales.

We had a small family party at McDonalds (YUCK!). She has even said some "garbage words" since it's her birthday and "You can swear on your birthday". This is Brandon's fault, but I'll spare you the details. :(
